Customer Segments Insights ("the App") is developed and operated by Foxry ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you install and use the App on your Shopify store.
1. Information We Collect
When you install and use the App, we access the following data from your Shopify store through the Shopify API:
- Customer data: Name, email address, order count, order dates, and monetary values associated with customer records. This data is used to perform RFM (Recency, Frequency, Monetary) analysis and segment your customers.
- Order data: Order amounts, dates, and line items to calculate metrics such as Average Order Value (AOV), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), and Repeat Purchase Rate (RPR).
- Store information: Store name, domain, primary locale, and currency for display and localization purposes.
- Billing information: Subscription status through Shopify's billing system (Managed Pricing) to determine your current plan.
We do not collect payment card details, passwords, or any information from your store's customers directly. All billing is handled through Shopify.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Classify your customers into segments based on their purchase behavior
- Generate dashboards, health summaries, cohort analyses, and key metrics
- Sync customer segment tags to your Shopify store (when enabled by you)
- Send weekly email reports and segment change notifications to you
- Send Slack notifications (when configured by you)
- Export customer data as CSV files (at your request)
- Provide and improve the App's functionality
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers and D1 database). We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
We retain your data only for as long as the App is installed on your store. Customer analysis data is processed and stored to provide the App's functionality.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We use Resend for transactional email delivery (weekly reports and notifications). Only the recipient email address and email content are shared with this provider.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
5. GDPR Compliance
We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Shopify's data protection requirements. We support the following Shopify GDPR webhooks:
- Customer data request: We provide all stored data related to a specific customer upon request.
- Customer data erasure: We delete all stored data related to a specific customer upon request.
- Shop data erasure: We delete all stored data associated with your store when you uninstall the App.
6. Data Deletion
When you uninstall the App, all data associated with your store is scheduled for deletion. You may also request data deletion at any time by contacting us.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store and customers
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for data processing by uninstalling the App
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
